Devices

The Devices page lists every tablet paired to your account. It refreshes itself every fifteen seconds, so it is the place to look when a store calls.

Column What it means
Device The name you gave it, or the tablet’s hostname
Store The store it is paired to
Product Preppy, DMS, or OCGuide
Health Online, Stale (missed a check-in), Offline, or Never seen
Licence Active, in grace, locked, or revoked, plus what the tablet itself last reported
Printer Connected or not found (Preppy)
Version The app version running on the tablet
Last seen When it last checked in, and how many commands are waiting for it

A card above the list shows each store’s licences and how many of its device slots are in use, for example “Preppy, 1 of 3 devices”.

Tap a row to expand it.

  • Labels printed (Preppy): a chart of labels per day for the last week, with print jobs and failures in the hover detail.
  • Device details: hostname, platform, when it was activated, licence status, whether its content came from the console or was edited on the tablet, network (online, Wi-Fi name, whether the store Wi-Fi needs a sign-in, local address), printer (model, last print, last error), and update status with the latest version available.
  • Recent commands and their results.

Owners and managers can:

  • Rename the device.
  • Manage Preppy or Manage DMS: open the studio for that tablet. See Managing Preppy from the console and DMS settings and the console.
  • Revoke device, which frees its slot for a replacement.
  • Send a command: Ping, Restart app, Reboot tablet, Check update, or Re-apply config. The tablet picks it up within about twenty seconds when it is online, otherwise at its next check-in.

Tablets set up with PizzaBot Setup update themselves. The tablet’s service checks for a new version a few times a day, downloads it in the background, verifies it, and installs it between 2 and 5 in the morning, store time, so nobody is interrupted. The Version column shows what each tablet is on, and Check update asks a tablet to look now.

After an update, the app may show a short “What’s new” card once, with a Got it button, so the crew knows what changed.

A tablet that has not checked in for a while shows Stale, then Offline. The app keeps working: Preppy prints and DMS tracks dough without a connection, and both catch up when the store’s Wi-Fi is back. If a tablet stays offline for a long time its licence enters a grace period before it locks to presets only; getting it back online clears that.
